Amy received her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and later received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) from the Nebraska Medical Center. She worked as a student athletic trainer at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2002-2006; the Great Plains Youth Rugby Association; Creighton University Men's Rugby, and continues to work as the athletic trainer for the Greater Omaha Area Training Touring Side Men's Rugby team.
